KUALA LUMPUR: Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd has been awarded a RM109 million contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) of the Central Oil Distribution Terminal at Tanjung Manis, Mukah, Sarawak.

The contract was given out by Assar Chemical Dua Sdn Bhd. The Assar Senari Group is a government-linked integrated oil, gas and chemicals corporation.

Muhibbah said the contract work was scheduled to start this month and would be completed by the third quarter of 2010.

For Muhibbah’s latest financial year ended Dec 31, 2008 (FY08), net profit fell to RM21.8 million from RM70.2 million in FY07 due to losses at its infrastructure construction division, although revenue rose to RM2.1 billion from RM1.4 billion.

As at Feb 18 this year, Muhibbah’s order book in hand stood at RM4.21 billion.
