KUALA LUMPUR: Asean and China will have to accelerate its business cooperation and work together to address the crisis and vulnerabilities in the world economy, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat.

He said on July 16 the establishment of Asean-China free trade has provided a sound basis for the business communities to interact and intensify collaborative initiatives.

"Among some of the aspects that require further attention include enhancing networking between private sectors and the need to build better communications," Ong said during the opening of the 4th conference of the Asean-China People-to-People Friendship Organisation.

He urged friendship associations to have more promotional activities to create awareness among business communities, adding such associations could provide information on business and trade opportunities, incentives and relevant regulations through websites and publications.
