KLCI crosses 1,000 in early trade

KUALA LUMPUR: Fund buying pushed the KL Composite Index past the 1,000 resistance level in early trade on May 4 as investors picked up BCHB, Tanjong and Tenaga.

At 9.02am, the KLCI rose 9.44 points to 1,000.18. Turnover was 45.29 million shares valued at RM27.66 million.

BCHB jumped 40 sen to RM8.45, Tanjong 30 sen to RM14.40, BAT 25 sen to RM44.75 and KL  Kepong 20 sen higher to RM11.80.

Other gainers were Petronas Gas, 15 sen to RM9.55, Public Bank, Sime Darby and Tenaga 10 sen higher RM8.45, RM6.70 and RM7.45 respectively.
