Reliance's PYOTravel.com eyes RM60m sales in FY10

KUALA LUMPUR: Online travel portal PYOTravel.com expects sales in its current financial year to triple to RM60 million from RM20 million in the year ended March 31, 2009.

Its managing director Francis Chin said the company recorded 100% growth in FY09, compared to the previous year.

To achieve the target for the current year, the company would focus on new products, especially for Asian destinations, Chin said at the launch of the company's revamped portal today.

"Our strength is in Asia-Pacific countries, especially Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan," he said, adding that Australia was one of the places that were growing in popularity.

"China is also coming up, along with countries like Taiwan," he added.

He also said the upgraded version of PYOTravel.com portal would allow travellers to plan their travel in Asia with easy access to 10,000 hotels and 100 holiday packages and many major airlines in the region.

"PYOTravel.com is able to guarantee real time rates and provide instant confirmation based on availability of hotel rooms, flights and land packages for Asia travellers," Chin said.

PYOTravel.com is wholly owned by Reliance Group Bhd. It was set up in 2006 and now has physical offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai and Sydney.
