KUALA LUMPUR: The South Jakarta District Court has dismissed the claims brought by PT Ayunda Prima Mitra (PT APM) against Measat Satellite Systems Sdn Bhd.

Measat said on Sept 18 the court dismissed the claims on Sept 17, with costs.

It added the dismissal of the claim was on "grounds that PT APM has no legal standing to bring the action against Measat".

The suit was filed in court on Sept 3, 2008 and Measat received the first and second notice of the Suit on Oct 16 and Nov 26.

The suit was related to Astro All Asia Networks plc proposed participation in a joint venture to operate a pay television business in Indonesia through PT Direct Vision (PT DV) a company wholly-owned by Lippo and its affiliates (Indonesian venture).

Measat had said on Dec 24 last year there were then disputes between AAAN and its affiliates with Lippo over the Indonesian Venture and these form the subject matter of the Suit against AAAN and 12 other defendants, including Measat.

"The claim against Measat is however based on the wrong perception that Measat is part of the Indonesian venture and the AAAN group of companies," it had said then, adding that the suit against Measat lacked proper legal basis.
