RCE 2Q net profit up 16%

KUALA LUMPUR: RCE Capital Bhd's net profit for the second quarter of its financial year ending March 31, 2010 (2QFY10 ) rose 16% to RM18.91 million from RM16.28 million a year earlier.
 
According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group's revenue grew 10% to RM59.88 million in 2QFY10 from RM54.62 million a year ago while basic earnings per share increased to 2.52 sen from 2.29 sen.
 
RCE said its net loan receivables grew by 30% from a year ago, adding that it managed to maintain the healthy growth in net loan receivables due to initiatives taken in expanding its product offerings.
 
The consumer finance company remained optimistic of its financial performance with its continuous efforts in product development and is confident of sustaining a steady growth in its loan financing business.
 
For the six months ended Sept 30, 2009, RCE's net profit climbed 25% to RM37.44 million from RM29.85 million a year ago.
