Bursa appoints Raja Teh as global head of Islamic capital market

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd has appointed Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz as its global head of Islamic capital market as well as set up a new subsidiary, BMIS Sdn Bhd, to house the operations and business activities of the Islamic capital market for the exchange.

Bursa Malaysia said yesterday Raja Teh would be spearheading the expansion and development of the Islamic capital market (ICM) infrastructure, products and services as well as the marketing of ICM products internationally.

She has also been tasked to develop cross-border ICM capabilities to facilitate the initiatives of the Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC) in order to support Malaysia’s aim as an Islamic financial hub.

Raja Teh brings with her 17 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to this appointment, she served Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Bhd as chief corporate officer and head of international business executive director from 2007 to July 2008.
