KUALA LUMPUR: Securities of Takaso Resources Bhd hit limit-up in the morning session on Monday, Jan 11, prompting a query from Bursa Malaysia Securities.

At 12.30pm, Takaso shares rose 30 sen to 52 sen with 7.26 million shares done, while its warrants surged 30 sen to 35 sen with 622,300 units done.

Bursa Securities had issued an unusual market activity on the trading of Takaso securities pertaining to the sharp rise in price and volume recently.

In response, Takaso said aside from the appointment of Kotra Pharma (M) Sdn Bhd as the exclusive distributor by unit Takaso Rubber Products Sdn Bhd announced on Dec 22, 2009, it was unaware of any activities that could have prompted the unusual market activity.

It added that similarly, it was unaware of any corporate announcements, reports or rumours that would have had the same effect.

“Takaso is not aware of any material information that requires immediate disclosure in accordance with Paragraph 9.03 of Bursa Securities,” it said in an announcement dated Jan 11.

Takaso posted net loss of RM1.125 million for the first quarter ended Oct 31, 2009. Its net asset per share was 34 sen per share.
