SILK Holdings secures RM12.4m contract

KUALA LUMPUR: SILK Holdings Bhd has secured a RM12.4 million contract from Carigali Hess Operating Company Sdn Bhd to provide one anchor handling tug supply vessel.

SILK said on Monday, Jan 11 the vessel was to support Carigali Hess's drilling programme. The contract is expected to start in February.

"The provision of the vessel is to support Carigali Hess in their drilling programme in the Malaysia–Thailand Joint Development Area. The contract is for a primary term of one  year with two extension options of one year each," it said.

SILK expected the contract to contribute positively to its earnings and assets for the financial year ending 31 July 2010 and 2011 respectively.
