Pentamaster unaware reasons for unusual market activity

KUALA LUMPUR: Pentamaster Corp Bhd says it unaware of any reasons for the unusual market activity of its shares in the morning session on Monday, Jan 18.

In response to a Bursa Malaysia Securities query, it said the board of directors of Pentamaster, after making due enquiry with the directors and major shareholders, was unaware of the reasons for the surge in price and volume of the shares.

It added there was no material development in the Pentamaster Group's business and affairs not previously announced that may account for the unusual market activity.

It also said the directors were not aware of any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group that may account for the unusual market activity.

Pentamaster shares surged to 65.5 sen in early trade before it was queried by Bursa Securities.

At 2.55pm, it was trading at 60 sen, up 6.5 sen with 24.76 million shares done.
