Hong Leong’s share price rose as much as 29 sen or 3.45% to an all-time high of RM8.69 on Tuesday after announcing that it was given the green light to start consumer finance operations in western and central China. Analysts were generally positive on this development as it is a catalyst for rapid loan growth.

CIMB Group's wholly-owned subsidiary, CIMB Investment Bank Bhd, received approval from the Vietnam Securities Commission for its subscription of an equity interest in Vinashin Shipbuilding Finance Company Securities LLC (VFC Securities). CIMB could subscribe up to 40% equity in VFC Securities.
