AmG appoints Brain as new CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: AmG Insurance Bhd has appointed its director Duncan Brain as its new CEO.

In a statement on Wednesday, March 17, AmG said Brain, from Australia, was a director since 2006 and prior to the new appointment, he was head of Southeast Asia for Insurance Australia Group (IAG), a 49% shareholder of AmG.

It said Brain had more than 20 years' experience in general Insurance, in a wide range of areas including technical, operational, general management and at board level. He has experience working across Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

AmG said Brain took over from Ng Lian Lu, former CEO of AmAssurance Bhd, before its composite insurance operations were separated into general insurance under AmG and life insurance operations in AmLife Insurance Bhd, in December 2008. Ng continues with his role as CEO of AmLife Insurance Bhd.
