Johore Tin chairman Goh steps down

KUALA LUMPUR: Johore Tin Bhd executive chairman and director Goh Mia Kwong resigned, while Datuk Kamaludin Yusoff has been redesignated as non-executive non-independent chairman on Monday, April 26, the group announced to Bursa Malaysia.

Goh, 71, had served as managing director of the group's subsidiary Johore Tin Factory Sdn Bhd since 1973, and has over 44 years of experience in the tin can industry. He is the father of Johore Tin's managing director Edward Goh Swee Wang. Goh has a direct stake of 9.86 million shares, and indirectly holds 4.76 million shares.

Meanwhile, Kamaludin was previously a non-executive director in Johore Tin. The 62-year-old has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History from University Malaya in 1974. He had served as an administrative and diplomatic officer in the public sector in 1974, and held various positions with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Road Transport Department and Ministry of Entrepreneur Development.

Kamaludin was previously chairman of Yoong Onn Corporation Bhd, and is the husband of Datin Fawziah Hussein Sazally, a director and shareholder of Genting Perwira Sdn Bhd, which is a major shareholder of Johore Tin.

Kamaludin has a direct stake of 50,000 shares in Johore Tin and an indirect stake of 3.82 million shares.
