Scomi wins excellence award

KUALA LUMPUR: Scomi Group Bhd has been awarded the Industry Excellence Award 2008 by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) under the "Export Services" category.

Scomi said yesterday the award was for Malaysian exporters who had shown exceptional performance in the global marketplace, especially in services development, market penetration and operational excellence. Scomi was honoured at a presentation dinner here last Thursday night.

Receiving the award trophy and certificate from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on behalf of Scomi were its chairman Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin and Scomi Oiltools president Chris Pianca.

"We have been providing our experience and expertise to our customers through our operations in 36 countries, and this award is testimony to the focus of Scomi in providing innovative solutions to our customers," said Scomi group CEO Shah Hakim Zain.
