KUALA LUMPUR: The Industrial Production Index (IPI) in January 2010 accelerated 12.7% from a year ago, and advanced 2.9% on month.

The Statistics Department said on Thursday, March 11 the increase in January was due to the increases in all indices: manufacturing (16.4%), mining (4.1%) and electricity (19.8%).

It added the IPI in December 2009 was revised 7.5% on-year.
