Knowing how much Malaysians love their food, property developer Bukit Kiara Properties Sdn Bhd (BKP), together with Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group (BSH) and The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd published and launched 33 Food Hotspots: Kuala Lumpur's Ultimate Food Guide at BKP Gallery in Mont Kiara on Tuesday.

Featuring over 300 eateries and culinary havens in the 33 areas of the Klang Valley, the hardcover book includes room for readers to rate each restaurant, and a specially-commissioned recipes in the last section of the book.

From fine dining to regular hawker stalls, each review provides details on an eatery's signature dish, business hours, average meal price, halal status and parking availability.

And in catering for the tech-savvy among us, it even comes with exact GPS coordinates of each food hotspot to enable readers to get to their food more quickly.

On the collaboration for the book between the three companies, Tong says: "[We] share similar values and passion for a food guide that serves as an extension of one of [our] favourite past times -- eating out."

Nine months in the making, a team of contributors took to the streets of KL to sample food from over 300 eateries before narrowing it down to the ones in the book. "It was a lot of work, but I can't say I feel sorry for them!" jokes Tong.

Specialty dishes from several of the restaurants reviewed in the book was on offer at the launch of theguide

The book is available in major bookstores such as MPH, Borders, Times, Kinokuniya and Popular for RM60 per copy, but for a limited time period, it will be on offer at a promotional price of RM48 per copy.
