KUALA LUMPUR: Accenture senior executive Goh Aik Meng has been appointed the country managing director (MD) of Accenture in Malaysia, taking over from Lim Beng Choon, who has retired after helming the Kuala Lumpur office for the past seven years.

Goh, whose appointment as country MD was effective from Jan 1, is tasked with further strengthening the global management consultancy’s practice and people in Malaysia, as well as improving its client service.

“We [Accenture] intend to be part of our Malaysian clients’ strategic agenda and will continue to bring our best ideas, people, and services to help our clients be more successful,” said Goh in a statement released on Tuesday, Feb 9.

In addition to his role as country MD, Goh will also spearhead Accenture’s Resources industry group in Southeast Asia, Australia and South Korea.

Prior to the appointment, Goh was Accenture’s Resources Industries Operating group MD for Greater China, based in Beijing. He successfully grew the resources business in China to become Accenture’s largest industry group in that market today.

Goh, a computer science graduate from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the UK, joined Accenture in 1988.
