At its 35th annual general meeting held on March 25, 2009, the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) saw the election of new captains. Md Adnan Md Zain, CEO of MCIS ZURICH Insurance Bhd, and Ooi Say Teng, CEO of Uni.Asia Life Assurance Bhd, were elected president and vice-president respectively. The previous president was Ng Lian Lu, CEO of AmAssurance.
Formed in 1974, LIAM is a trade association that comprises 18 members (16 life insurance companies and two life reinsurance companies).
