KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Tan Chai Ho arrived at the MCA Headquarters at about 4.30pm to deliver 921 signatures of delegates requesting for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) planned by supporters of expelled MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

The number of signatures obtained exceeds the 800 needed to request for an EGM.

"Today is an auspicious day to hand in the signatures," said Tan, adding that he was still awaiting the secretary-general of MCA to receive the signatures.

MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat emerged from the meeting with Tan without holding a press conference. However, his political secretary Simon Lim said that "he (Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek) can make any degrading remarks, but he doesn't have the right to condemn anyone."
