KUALA LUMPUR: MCA's annual general meeting (AGM) and extraordinary general meeting (EGM) called by president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat will be held simultaneously, said secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng.

Asked if he has begun to prepare for the EGM, Wong said he had to discuss the matter with the legal bureau.

He said since the EGM was called by the president, it is not limited by the 30 days period. If EGM was called by delegates, the EGM must be held within 30 days.

Wong said the AGM and EGM will be held together in order not to inconvenience delegates.

MCA must hold its AGM by Dec 31.

Traditionally MCA's AGM is officiated by the Barisan Nasional chairman, who is also the prime minister.
