KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, who had resigned as MCA vice-president on March 4, today said he would contest a post in the coming party polls.

Kong, who is also minister of housing and local government, said he had not decided which post to contest, but would listen to the opinions of the delegates.

"When the time comes, I will tell you which post I will be fighting for. It is still a long time [to nomination day]. I will listen to the delegates before deciding on what post to contest," he said.

He was speaking at a press conference in conjunction with the Green Solution Property Conference 2010, which will be held on April 6.

When asked about who he would work with, Kong said he could team up with anybody, or even dine with anyone, referring to a dinner held for central delegates in Johor on March 9.

Present at the dinner were Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and Kong.

Ng had confirmed yesterday that she would defend her MCA vice-presidency in the fresh elections.

A total of 21 central committee members have resigned to date, bringing about the need for fresh elections.

Nomination day is slated for March 22, while the polls will be held on March 28.
