Lim had dominated the debate session with his demands that past and present cabinet ministers clarify the reasons that led to several controversial decisions on the PKFZ development. During his lengthy speech, Lim demanded answers on the land purchase as well as letters of support issued by former transport ministers Tun Ling Liong Sik and Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy which subsequently led to the issuing of bonds to finance the project. The veteran parliamentarian's fiery attack on what he called the PKFZ "mother of all scandals" ticked off Siringan Gubat (Ranau-BN) who objected to Lim "repeating his Monday speech". At the same time, Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (Kinabatangan-BN) interjected saying Lim's statements were from "four years ago" and likening it to "pisang goreng tak laku". Lim smiled and retorted: "It's fresh from the oven. Everything (I have said) is new." Tiong then stood up and challenged Lim to repeat his statements outside the Dewan Rakyat. Tiong said: "Ipoh Timur (Lim), you hari-hari hujah. Mari luar sana kita cerita." In reply, Lim told Tiong, "We are MPs, not samseng (thugs)." Persisting with the PKFZ controversy, Lim remarked that "RM12.5 billion was not a big sum for some" but was "a goldmine for some" to which Bung shouted, "Bohong (lies)." Lim also said: "Dia (Tiong) ada vested interest. Can we allow people to hold parliament to ransom? If this is not samseng, what is it?" Tiong is a major shareholder in Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd, the company that sold PKA land for the PKFZ project as well as the project's turnkey developer. Tiong and Bung meanwhile continued to challenge Lim to repeat the latter's assertions outside parliament, where his speech would not be protected by parliamentary immunity. Lim replied: "Jangan takut lah. Truth hurts", which prompted more shouting from Tiong. During the exchanges, Deputy Speaker Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar had repeatedly asked Lim to summarise and speed up his speech.
