July 10: High Court allows lawyer P Uthayakumar's application for the return of his passport to enable him to seek medical treatment in London.

July 10: Kedah DAP has withdrawn its decision to stop supporting the state government after Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak had fruitful talks with DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.

July 9: Datuk Armani Mahiruddin of Sabah appointed Senate deputy speaker, the first woman ever to hold the post in Malaysia.

July 9: During Selangor State Assembly, Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman Azmin Ali calls for a reshuffle of the state executive council because of complaints of them being bureaucratic.

July 9: Penang state government declassifies various documents including minutes of previous state executive council (exco) meetings related to the Kampung Buah Pala issue.

July 9: Senate sitting shortened by two days, announces new Senate president.

July 9: Federal Court grants ex-Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin leave to appeal, three questions framed. Nizar's bid to stay Court of Appeal decision rejected.

July 8: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim announced that as of today, the state assembly will be officially known as Selangor State Assembly and not the Selangor State Legislative Assembly.

July 8: Penang PKR's Johari Kassim apologises, receives one-month suspension from Penang state government instead.

July 8: Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announces cabinet's decision to abolish the teaching of science and mathematics in English (PPSMI), reverting back to Bahasa Malaysia and venacular languages in phases from 2012.

July 8: Former Port Klang Authority (PKA) and Pulau Lumut Development Cooperative chairman Datuk Abdul Rahman Palil has issued demand letters to nine individuals and companies for total damages of RM11 million.

July 8: The family of murdered Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu’s leave application to challenge the Attorney-General’s (AG) decision not to appeal against political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda’s acquittal has now been fixed on July 27. Delay was due to glitch in scheduling.

July 8: KL High Court postpones Anwar's sodomy trial to July 15 for documents. Anwar's lead counsel Sulaiman Abdullah unwell. Mention to strike out Anwar's sodomy charge fixed on same day.

July 7: The People's Movement Against Corruption (GERAK) lodges report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the alleged abuse of power in the appointment of the Port Klang Authority (PKA) and the issue on the bungalow owned by former Selangor menteri besar, Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo.

July 7: KL High Court fixes July 17 to hear the applications by nine religious councils to intervene in the Roman Catholic church's fresh application for a judicial review over the usage of the word "Allah" in its weekly publication.

July 7: Wong Foon Meng sworn in as new Senate President.

July 6: Three opposition leaders, one each from DAP, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and PAS, were sworn in as senators for a three-year term.

July 6: Civil High Court rules that deceased art director Mohan Singh had converted to Islam and that it is the Syariah Court that has the jurisdiction to determine if was still a Muslim at the time of his death on May 25.

July 6: Manek Urai nomination day. Only two candidates, BN's Tuan Aziz Tuan Mat and PAS' Mohd Fauzi Abdullah.
