KUALA LUMPUR: Former Transport Minister Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik arrived at the parliament building at 11.10am to attend the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) inquiry into the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project.

Appearing jovial, Ling who was clad in a dark coloured suit, was escorted by Dewan Rakyat Secretary Datuk Rosmee Hamzah to a holding room near the parliamentary committee room where the PAC meeting would be held.

Rosmee had instructed parliament's security personnel to clear the area of the committee room on the building's first floor, thus press photographers and journalists had virtually no opportunity to approach Ling.

"Media representatives have to wait at the parliament lobby. If there is a press conference, we will inform all of you. This is order from the secretary of the House," said a security personnel.

A host of PAC committee members led by chairman Datuk Seri Azmi Khalid were seen entering the committee room the moment Ling arrived.
